Some of these days, you'll miss your honey, Some of these days, you'll feel so lonely. You'll miss my hugging, you'll miss my kisses You'll miss me, Honey, when you go away. I feel so lonely just for you only, For you know, Honey, you've had your way. And when you leave me, I know you'll grieve me; You'll miss your little honey some of these days.

Lifeline 04:27
Throw me a lifeline I'm drifting out to sea Throw me a lifeline Won't someone please rescue me Loneliness is an ocean Love is the shore I'm in deep water Cause I've fallen overboard So throw me a lifeline Before I sink beneath the sea Don't you hear me calling I'm sending out my SOS Don't you hear me calling Can you remedy my distress I'm calling out to someone To help me make it through It won't take much to answer That someone might be you Don't you hear me calling Calling out my SOS Throw me a lifeline Can't you see the state I'm in? Throw me a lifeline Not much longer can I swim. In these lonely waters, I'm going down Two times already, and the third time I might drown Throw me a lifeline You know it's time to reel me in.

Oh I wish that I were young again Foot loose and fancy free To be somewhere that I've never been With no ties binding me I think I'd do things differently I'd be much smarter now Do all the things I never did Cause I did not know how (Chorus) But time will not reverse itself Nor let you start again And second chances seldom come No changing what has been There's no sense in regretting Time does not do trades And those old mistakes were not as bad As the ones you never made. There was a time when I was young And smart as I could be I went off to see the wizards At the university I found that I was not so smart It came as quite a blow What I learned most clearly Was how much I didn't know. So when you look upon the past And choices that seem wrong Though you may have fallen on your face You managed to move on Things could have been much worse you know What really did you lose? Those old mistakes were nothing but The way you've paid your dues.

Well I started in Memphis Then moved on to Mobile I blew through Tallahassee Just lookin for something to feel There was a gal in Savannah Who left me sad and alone So I landed in Charlotte But I don't call it home (Chorus) I want to sail on the ocean I want to turn on the breeze I want to be that young man On the flying trapeze But it's too late for yearning And too soon to be done So I guess I'll keep rolling Just a bit further on. There's lots of music in Nashville But so many like me I'd just get lost in the shuffle So I guess I'll just let Nashville be Maybe try Cincinatti While the weather's still nice But I know before too long It will turn into ice.

Make me a pallet on your floor Make me a pallet on your floor Make it soft, make it low, so your good gal won't ever know Make me a pallet on your floor. Come all you good time friends of mine, Come all you good time friends of mine. When I had ten dollars, you treated me so fine Where were you when I only had a dime. Come on and make me a pallet on your floor Make me a pallet on your floor Make it soft, make it low, so your good gal won't ever know Make me a pallet on your floor. I'd be more than satisfied, If I could catch one train to ride But if I reach Atlanta with no place to go, Please make me a pallet on your floor Make me a pallet on your floor Make me a pallet on your floor Make it soft, make it low, so your good gal won't ever know Make me a pallet on your floor. Weary blues everywhere I see Weary in blues everywhere I see Blues all aroud me, honey everywhere I see No one ever had the blues like me Make me a pallet on your floor Make me a pallet on your floor Make it soft, make it low, so your good gal won't ever know Make me a pallet on your floor.

The sun's gone down in the western sky Moon's putting on its show Got a warm coat and some brand new shoes But I've got no place to go So I ordered up a pizza I've got half a case of beer Sure would like to share it But nobody else is here. (chorus) Saturday night and I'm drinking alone Watching the evening news Feeling the weight of my bad choices Got the lonely weekend blues. Guess I could go out all by myself Go looking for some fun Maybe listen to some local band Just to beat this being alone But watching other folks dancing Or sitting 'round laughing out loud When you don't know a soul to talk to It just feels worse being in a crowd. So I guess I'll see what's on the tube Pop open another brew Or maybe pick up my old guitar Just gotta find something to do Funny how I can't wait all week For Friday to roll around But by Saturday night I'm feeling empty Cause the blues is all I've found.

There's a feeling going 'round that somethings wrong They say that something mighty strange is goin' on And when people get afraid it won't be long Before there's trouble Try to save what you can before it's gone This earth is getting warmer so they say Another species goes extinct most every day As storms like no ones ever seen are on the way Best find your shelter Rich folks prosper while the rest of us must pay. There's a man lurking somewhere with a gun Wants to shoot some people down just for the fun He don't care if you should fight or try to run Don't make no difference He just wants to die, but not alone People asking how the hell did we get here Politicians get their power from the fear Preachers swearing that the end is coming near God's retribution But your donations buy salvation don't you fear Some say these times are surely going to pass And a brighter day will reappear at last It's the darkness before dawn - just hold fast Lokk for better days And hope that soon the danger will be passsed.

Once I lived the life of a millionaire, Spent all my money, didn't have a care. Took all my friends out for a real good time, Bought bootleg liquor, champagne and wine. Then I began to fall so low, Lost all my good friends, had nowhere to go. I get my hands on a dollar again, I'm gonna hang on to it till that eagle grins. 'Cause nobody knows you When you're down and out. In your pocket, not one penny, And as for friends, you ain't got any. When you finally get back on your feet again, Everybody wants to be your long-lost friend. Said it's mighty strange, without a doubt, Nobody knows you when you're down and out.

Circlin' 03:42
Sun always goes down in the west But it comes up from the east next day How it gets back I'm not certain Always seems to find its way They say each day's a new beginning A chance to start out fresh again But I just seem to run in circles No beginning and no end They tell me once I was a child Lord that seems so long ago I just can't seem to remember But there are two things that I know All these days are getting shorter Now that winter's coming on And that old sun's forever circling And it will be when I'm gone I try to find myself a straight path Where a straight path can be found Crazy dog can't catch his own tail I get myself all turned around So here I go again just circling Where I'm going is where I've been Just can't seem to get my head straight All it wants to do is spin From the past until tomorrow From this place to further on That old sun's forever circling And it will be when I'm gone

Forever June 03:16
Well I've been hanging 'round I couldn't say just why There's not much more that's here for me to see The days have all turned gray Cold rain upon my skin All these dark clouds hangin over me I know that I had best be on my way Searching for a warm and sunny day Somewhere forever June Where beneath a silver moon Stars dance to the music that we play. Now I couldn't say for sure Just where that place might be I've heard that it's so very far away But I know I've still got time And travelling I don't mind Some nice folks I can meet along the way So I think it must be time to travel on Seems the road just might be going my way Somewhere forever June Where beneath a silver moon Stars dance to the music that we play. So now the time has come To bid my friends adieu I'll not forget the folks I've come to know Fond memories I'll keep Through the coming years I hope they'll understand why I must go I hear the highway calling out my name Maybe I will find it some sweet day Somewhere forever June Where beneath a silver moon Stars dance to the music that we play.

about

This is my first commercial album that features the lap steel guitar as the primary vocal accompaniment. There's also mandolin and bass, but it is the lap steel that defines the arrangements. I've included seven original songs and three old songs which are in the public domain.
